Bowmans Cold Stores cater for long- or short-term temperature-controlled storage, order collation, independent QA inspection as well as provide rental of temperature-controlled stores. We also offer the use of air-conditioned, fully networked offices and staff facilities for the purpose of production and distribution. Bowmans wanted to extend their already large operation by building a brand-new purpose-built site behind their original premises. The Bowmans Cold Store Project started when we were approached to find a cost-effective but energy efficient solution to light the new site currently being built. From that moment on, we made an initial visit to site and had a meeting with the Maintenance Manager Tom to go through the building plans and his intentions for the site. Tom explained to us that he required a maintenance-free solution which delivered the required lux levels, was simple to install and that also met the strict regulations on-site regarding lighting. Once we understood what the client desired we set to work, providing a full Lighting Design for both the Internal and External areas of the new build, presented it to the client explaining what lux levels and uniformity we are achieving in each area while also supplying fittings that were suitable for the area and were incredibly simple to install.
